DESCRIPTION
Pair of tibors; China, 20th century.
Bronze with cloisonné enamel.
Measurements: 26 x 17 x 17 cm (x2).
This pair of Chinese tibors, made in bronze with cloisonné enamel, embodies the continuity of one of the most emblematic decorative traditions of Chinese art. Intended as objects of prestige and visual balance, tibors have historically occupied a central place in ornamentation.
The pieces have a harmonious globular shape, crowned by golden tops, which dialogue with the base and the metal lip, providing visual stability and formal hierarchy. The intense cobalt blue of the enameled background serves as a backdrop for a stylized floral decoration, traced with fine bronze fillets that define the cloisonné pattern with precision.
Although produced in modern times, these tibors are consciously inscribed in an imperial tradition, reinterpreting models of previous dynasties destined for the cult and decorative market.
