This Chinese porcelain tibor, dated late 19th century, is a characteristic example of blue and white ceramics, one of the most enduring traditions of Chinese art. With a globular body and wide mouth with a lid, the piece combines a functional form with carefully painted underglaze cobalt decoration.
The central motif is the character shou (longevity), surrounded by a dense background of vegetal scrolls, a symbolic repertoire associated with long life, prosperity and harmony. This type of tibores was used both as a container and as an ornamental object, occupying a prominent place in domestic and ceremonial interiors.
Its relevance lies in the continuity of traditional models adapted to the production of the 19th century, when Chinese porcelain maintained a high cultural and decorative value, both locally and in the international market.
