DESCRIPTION
Qing dynasty vase. China, ca. 1910.
Bronze with cloisonné enamel. Circular wooden pedestal.
Measurements: 34 x 13 x 13 x 13 cm; 5 x 12.5 x 12.5 cm (base).
A series of borders with polyform fretwork delimit a central scene of marked naturalistic character, where the dynamism of the birds in full flight is harmoniously integrated in an exuberant floral environment. The design is completed with a stylized neck, enhanced by the presence of two lateral reliefs that act as rings. This is a specimen that represents the excellence of the decorative arts in the Chinese Qing dynasty, a period of technical splendor, cultural synthesis and an unprecedented openness to external influences, marking the final stage of imperial China.
