Chinese porcelain shark, Rose Family, large format, richly decorated with a complex composition millefleurs on golden yellow background. The body is covered by an intricate network of scrolls and vegetal motifs in polychrome enamels, among which stand out phoenix birds with long undulating tails, represented in ascending flight, alternating with large peony flowers, traditional symbol of wealth, honor and prosperity in Chinese culture.

The profusion of decoration, characteristic of courtly taste, is harmoniously distributed over the entire surface, creating a continuous visual effect of great chromatic and technical richness. The neck is decorated with a band of stylized floral motifs and geometric medallions on an emerald green background, topped by a matching lid.

The lid is crowned by a Buddhist lion (shi) modeled in glazed porcelain, a symbolic element associated with protection, authority and custody of imperial power, reinforcing the ceremonial and prestigious character of the piece.

This type of pink family porcelain (fencai) was developed and perfected during the Qing dynasty, especially from the reign of Yongzheng (1723-1735) and reached its maximum splendor under Qianlong (1736-1795), thanks to the introduction of opaque glazes of Western origin that allowed a softer and more varied chromatic palette. Large decorative tibors such as this one were destined for palaces, temples or aristocratic residences, functioning both as objects of prestige and as ornamental elements of great visual impact.
