DESCRIPTION
Relief. China, 19th century.
Hard stone.
Size: 16 x 12 x 2 cm.
Oval medallion carved from a single piece of hard stone, carved in relief with the representation of a typically Japanese landscape, asymmetrical and dominated by a pine tree, symbol of long life in East Asia. Under the tree, completing the composition, is a crane, also a symbol of longevity.
