Max Mara was born in 1951 in Reggio Emilia, Italy, by Achille Maramotti, a lawyer who left his career to follow the family tradition of fashion. With a sober and timeless style, Max Mara quickly became synonymous with functional elegance. In 1981 it launched its most iconic piece: the 101801 coat, designed by Anne-Marie Beretta, which is still a symbol of feminine power and elegance today.
