The Hermès Evelyne is the result of a design evolution born in the 1970s, when Hermès conceived this bag not as a fashion accessory, but as a functional object for horse keepers. Its creator, Évelyne Bertrand, then head of the maison's equestrian department, designed a bag intended to carry tools and care products, incorporating a feature that would eventually become its hallmark: the "H"-shaped perforated panel, originally intended to allow ventilation of the contents.
