Giampaolo Seguso, son of Archimede, founded Seguso Viro with his sons Gianluca, Pierpaolo and Andrea. The name "Viro" refers to the individual (from the Latin Vir, Viri = man/humanity), as the transmitter of a long tradition, that of one of the most important families of glassmakers of the twentieth century, according to the glass brand itself.

Archimede founded in 1948 the extraordinary Italian glassworks Vetreria Archimede Seguso, where father and son, Giampaolo, worked side by side until Giampaolo was almost 50 years old. After his father's death, Giampaolo was eager to embark on his own artistic path, so he opened a branch of his company, Seguso Viro, in New York in 1993. The trick, Seguso explains, is to "achieve a contemporary look using the old Renaissance." With the help of his son Pierpaolo and his team, Seguso manages to understand American tastes and trends. In New York, where they have found a strong sense of youth culture, they want to communicate the authentic essence of Murano. "For me, glass is the only material that can reproduce the colors of the Venetian lagoon," Seguso says. He lectured in Europe and the United States, has won numerous awards and an honorary degree in Communication Sciences at the University "John Paul I". His works are in the world's leading museums: from the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Museum of Modern Art and the Corning Museum in New York, among hundreds of other museums around the world. He works in his studio in Murano, where he received glass collectors and experts from around the world.
