Sauce dish with plate.
White ceramic with gold filleting.
Stamps on the base.
Measurements: 18 x 26 x 16 cm (total with plate).
Collaboration between Paul Wundelich and Rosenthal Mythos. The design of the "Mythos" collection is characterized by elegant lines and golden details.
Paul Wunderlich is known for his dreamlike style, halfway between surrealism, eroticism and mythological references.
The prestigious German ceramics, porcelain and glassware manufacturer Rosenthal was founded in 1879 in Selb, Bavaria, by Philip Rosenthal (1855-1937), and is still in business today. Its first success in the market took place at the beginning of the 20th century, thanks to its delicate figural statuettes and its table services, of simplified and refined forms, very different from the earlier Art Nouveau pieces. After World War II, the factory completely renewed its repertoire and hired important designers such as Löwy or Wirkkala.
