Rogier Vandeweghe was a prominent Belgian ceramist and designer, considered a key figure in the renewal of modern ceramics in Belgium after World War II. Trained at the Fine Arts Academies of Tielt and Ghent, he spent much of his career linked to the renowned Perignem workshop, where he created works that combine art and functionality within a modern and experimental language. His work is characterized by sculptural and abstract forms, organic lines, richly textured surfaces and expressive glazes, with a marked influence of post-war European modernism. He exhibited internationally and his pieces are part of public and private collections, leaving a fundamental legacy in the field of contemporary artistic ceramics.
