DESCRIPTION
Important sculptural vase; France, circa 1955-1970.
Glazed stoneware.
Presents incised marks and numbering on the base.
Measurements: 41 x 8,5 cm (diameter).
Exceptional studio ceramic work made in high temperature stoneware with mineral glazes in white, green and ferruginous ochre tones. The piece is articulated in a vertical composition of great sculptural strength, where volume and texture acquire absolute prominence.
The surface presents a refined application of abstract motifs in relief, which enrich the material game and enhance the visual depth of the whole. The enamel work, with its natural shades and controlled oxidation effects, brings an organic and vibrant dimension to the piece.
Because of its formal language and its powerful sculptural charge, this work is in the tradition of French Brutalist ceramics of the mid-20th century, with clear affinities to the environment of Jacques Blin and the workshops of La Borne and Puisaye, renowned for their expressive exploration of stoneware and mineral glazes.
Piece of great plastic presence, ideal for contemporary interiors or collections specializing in 20th century signature ceramics.
