Joan Descarga has a degree in Industrial Design from the Massana School of Barcelona, and a doctorate in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, where he teaches in the painting department. Throughout his career he has been deeply interested in the pedagogy of art, and has worked at the Massana School, Elisava, School of Textile and Industrial Design of the Ramon Llull University. As a painter he has had more than fifty solo exhibitions and has participated in more than a hundred group exhibitions in national and international galleries. His work is part of various public and private, national and international collections, and he has also worked in photography, video and graphic work.
