ALFREDO FIGUERAS SANMARTÍ (Sant Fruitós de Bages, Barcelona, 1898 - Barcelona, 1980).

Measurements: 32 x 35,5 cm; 46 x 35,5 cm (frame).

Painter formed in the School of La Lonja of Barcelona, he defines his style thanks to a trip to Africa, where he discovered Algeria and the desert. Since then, he painted mainly Algerian themes and scenes. He exhibited at the Sala Parés in 1921, and from 1929 he alternated his residence between North Africa, Barcelona and Ibiza. He founded the Arts Academy in Algiers.
