Arts Christmas is a series of small formats that turns the Christmas spirit into a pictorial game of homage and reinvention. Each work pays tribute to a great master in the history of art, reinterpreting his most recognizable stylistic features -his stroke, his palette, his composition or his characteristic gesture- to integrate them into an unexpected image: his self-portrait or iconic figure wearing a Santa Claus hat.

The result is a dialogue between tradition and humor, between reverence for the great and the festive lightness of Christmas. The series acts as a small alternative museum, where each painting functions as an intimate, bright and deliberately playful postcard.

Yolanda Carretero Cacho has combined her creative work with artistic teaching in the Balearic Islands and abroad. She has participated in numerous collective pictorial exhibitions in Barcelona, Menorca, Mallorca and Europe. She has also participated in contests, being in some of them as winner and finalist. Her work does not cease to search and investigate new techniques and styles (engraving, watercolor, acrylic, Indian ink and pencil sketches) that I have developed in stays in Paris and London.
