Jules Cayron was known primarily for his refined portraits of high society and elegant scenes of the Belle Époque. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and the Académie Julian with masters such as Jules Lefebvre and Alfred Stevens, exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, received several distinctions - among them the Legion of Honor - and his works are part of important collections such as those of the Musée d'Orsay, the Hermitage and the Musée Carnavalet.
