Jorge Romero is a contemporary artist based in Madrid. His work focuses on the study of light from a predominantly monochromatic perspective, where color translates into light, shadow, and intense hallmarks. Through expressionism and chiaroscuro, he explores “the invisible,” incorporating darkness as an essential part of the image and of what it conceals, beyond the purely aesthetic or technical.

Jorge Romero is a Colombian painter who has been based in Spain since 2008. After initially studying Communication Sciences and building a solid professional career in advertising and graphic design—first in Venezuela and later in Barcelona and Madrid—his direct exposure to Pop Art during a project for a Madrid gallery in 2014 marked his decisive return to painting. Since then, he has developed a personal body of work centered on the exploration of light, hallmarks, and the presence of the human figure as a space of conflict. His work has been presented in international contexts such as the Paris International Contemporary Art Fair and in exhibitions and projects linked to contemporary galleries and platforms in Madrid, consolidating a recognizable pictorial discourse within contemporary figurative art.
