A Parisian view rendered with a free, luminous, and highly immediate style. The composition is organized around barely hinted-at architecture, partially veiled by vibrant, expansive vegetation. Callicó works with gouache using fluid washes, transparencies, and quick brushstrokes that suggest rather than describe: the trees seem to dissolve into light, the background opens up in shades of pink and blue, and the architecture blends into the landscape as a silent presence.

Ferran Callicó i Botella was a painter, draftsman, and portraitist active in both Catalonia and France. His body of work includes portraits, landscapes, and works on paper, with a particular focus on capturing atmosphere and the expressive use of color.
