The design of the Gira lamp was born in the seventies by the industrial designers Massana, Tremoleda and Ferrer. The success of this design was such that in 1978 the mini version of the Gira lamp was launched. In addition, the Gira lamp is part of numerous important art collections such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA), the British Design Museum in London, and the MACBA Center in Barcelona, among others.
In 1968, JM Massana and JM Tremoleda created together with Jordi Domènech and Francesc Miravitlles, "Equip de disseny". In 1973 they founded, with Mariano Ferrer, Mobles 114. A firm whose values include environmental impact from the very beginning. The editor herself states "Aware that the design phase is where most influence can be had, we think of a global vision, which transcends the product, to influence the production and distribution phases".
