Table lamp designed by Metalarte in the seventies. It is characterized by a minimalist design that combines the geometric reduction of the forms with the roundness of the contours, avoiding the angularity and seeking a fluidity of the whole. What gives it a singular originality and versatility is the folding chrome support, allowing different screen movements.
Metalarte is a family business with almost a century of history, founded as a metalwork workshop by Antonio Riera Clariana in 1932 under the name of Metall Arts. In the early 1940s, the company began to design and manufacture its own models of lamps. However, it was not until the late 1950s that Metalarte began to define the modern and innovative character for which it is known, influenced by the burgeoning Scandinavian design of the time.
Beginning in the 1960s, Metalarte began collaborating with outside designers who would become leading figures in Spanish industrial design, such as André Ricard, Enric Franch, Joan Antoni Blanc and Josep Lluscà. This collaboration established the brand as a benchmark in the lighting sector and a pioneering company in Spanish design. In addition, Metalarte distributes models produced by international firms such as Louis Poulsen, Arteluce and Stilnovo.
