Wall coat rack with umbrella stand function, made during the 1950s, at the height of European mid-century design. Due to the aesthetics of the piece, it is possible that it is a design by Roger Féraud (1890-1964), known for his functional creations with a strong sculptural component.
The coat rack is structured on a solid oak base, which gives it solidity and a warm material presence, reinforced by the nobility of the natural finish. In the central axis, there is a vertical mirror, which provides both a functional dimension and a visual opening to the whole, acting as a focal point within the design. Flanking this core are spherical metal hangers painted in bright colors, in a radial arrangement and with a remarkable visual effect. These elements provide a playful and dynamic chromatic contrast, while at the same time recalling the aesthetic language of kinetic art and geometric abstraction that profoundly influenced the modern furniture of the time.
