DESCRIPTION
Architect's showcase / library. ROCHE BOBOIS, France, 2020.
"Architecte."
Wood and glass.
Measurements: 225 x 123 x 46 cm.
The "Architecte" display cabinet stands out for its structural elegance and refined functionality, distinctive qualities of the style of the French firm Roche Bobois.
The cabinet is made of high quality wood with a vertical and rectangular structure, organized in two superimposed bodies that communicate visually through clean lines, simple moldings and balanced proportions. It has four doors, two lower and two upper, framed by glass panels that allow displaying books, models or decorative objects with clarity and style.
The back paneling, in light wood, adds depth and texture, enhancing the warm character of the piece. Its design suggests a dialogue between the technical precision of the architect and the aesthetic sensibility of the interior designer, a Roche Bobois hallmark.
It features 6 decorative plates that hint at the type of objects that could occupy each space, in reference to terms specific to the discipline: esquisses, plans, echantillons, colorations, dossiers and archives.
This "architect's library" combines constructive solidity and visual lightness, making it an ideal element for contemporary spaces, professional studios or sophisticated domestic environments.
Roche Bobois is a world leader in furniture design and distribution. In close collaboration with renowned designers such as Marcel Wanders, Kenzo Takada, Ora Ito, Cédric Ragot, Sacha Lakic, Christophe Delcourt and Stephen Burks and with Haute Couture fashion houses such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Missoni Home and Christian Lacroix Maison, Roche Bobois offers a wide range of exclusive bespoke designs, manufactured with a high level of customization in small European workshops. Founded in 1950 by Jacques Roche, Roche Bobois focused from the beginning on the distribution of the best French contemporary furniture specialists, such as Minvielle, Steiner or Airborne, and also on the edition of projects by famous designers such as Pierre Paulin or Marc Berthier. In the sixties it opened its catalog to Scandinavian design, and today it remains one of the most prominent international firms in the field of publishing and selective distribution of furniture.
