Adjustable wall lamp, attributed to the firm Kelvin Bottomley & Baird, known for its pieces of functional lighting and industrial inspiration.
Industrial style, this lamp combines mechanical solidity and technical elegance, typical of the utilitarian design of the interwar period. It consists of a metal plate anchored to the wall, from which an extendable chrome-plated iron arm articulated at various points, allowing both the distance and the orientation of the light to be regulated with great precision. At its end hangs a large spotlight, also adjustable, which can be set at different angles to direct the light beam according to the needs of the space.
The polished chrome finish provides a bright and timeless look, contrasting with the roughness of iron and reinforcing its industrial and technical character. Originally conceived for work environments, its refined design and functional versatility have made it a highly appreciated piece in contemporary interiors, both in residential contexts and in loft or vintage style spaces.
This lamp exemplifies the search for efficiency, mobility and rational aesthetics characteristic of the first half of the 20th century, and reflects the transition between handcrafted design and modern industrial production.
