DESCRIPTION
ANDREA ANASTASIO (Rome, 1961) for Artemide
Ceiling lamp "Giocasta".
Glass and metal.
Presents Venezia Artemide label.
Measurements: 109 x 70 x 70 cm.
The "Giocasta" lamp represents one of the freshest and surprisingly inventive moments in Artemide's catalog in the 1990s. Its design, solid but poetic, is born from the profoundly heterodox gaze of Andrea Anastasio, a creator whose career escapes from any norm: trained in philosophy, immersed in cataloguing projects of Islamic architecture in India, researcher of traditional craft techniques and collaborator of architects, museums and publishing houses, Anastasio has built an absolutely personal language within contemporary Italian design.
In "Giocasta" that unique blend of references - between craftsmanship, conceptuality and function - translates into a luminaire of sculptural presence, where glass and metal combine.
The "Giocasta" lamp has become a highly sought after design by collectors and lovers of Italian design.
