Art Deco style pitcher in the form of penguin, twentieth century.
Patinated metal.
In good general condition. As it is a vintage piece, it may present marks of use and the passage of time.

The constant presence of animals in Art Deco sculpture is no coincidence, but the result of a fascination with domesticated nature, organic geometry and exoticism of the time. In fact, Art Deco moved away from the excessive details of Art Nouveau to seek schematization and geographical simplification. Animals offered sculptors perfect natural silhouettes to be stylized.
