This set of four "Hövding" swivel armchairs is a brilliant example of Swedish design from the late 1980s, where functionality meets a playful, architectural aesthetic. Designed in 1986 by Börge Lindau for his own firm Blå Station (Blue Station), they are part of the iconic Oblado series, one of the first to consolidate the brand's philosophy: furniture with a strong graphic character, conceived to last in both public and private spaces.
Lindau, founder of Blå Station after his successful career in the Lindau & Lindekrantz duo, created in these armchairs a piece recognizable by its distinctive perforated birch backrest, which brings visual lightness and geometric rhythm. The name "Hövding" - Swedish for "chief" or "chieftain" - reflects the imposing presence they maintain despite their slender silhouette, making them an exceptional set for Scandinavian interior design and collecting.
