ENZO BERTI (Pianiga, Italy, 1950)
Set of six chairs, ca. 1980
Solid wood with walnut or cherry veneer.
In good overall condition, with light scuffs and surface marks consistent with its use and age.
Measurements: 88 x 46 x 47 cm (each).
This set of chairs designed by Enzo Berti reflects a refined aesthetic based on the precision of lines and the balance of proportions. The structure, with its clear and restrained geometry, is combined with warm wood surfaces that bring sobriety and elegance to the set. The slightly sloping backrest introduces a subtle dynamism that softens the formal rigidity while improving ergonomics.
Enzo Berti studied design at the University of Venice. Since the 1980s he has collaborated with prestigious furniture brands: from Magis to Artemide, from Lago to Gervasoni. In the 90s, he assumed the artistic direction of numerous projects, collaborating with Lapalma, Montìna, Bross, Bauline. He also helped launch new brands, such as Verdesign, Torremato, Kreoo, I-Radium, Hiko. He won numerous awards, including, in 2014, the Compasso d'Oro.
