Rocking chair model 'Tartera', designed by Jordi Vilanova i Bosch in 1966 and produced in Spain during the same decade. Made of beech wood, this piece represents one of the most singular and iconic proposals of Spanish design in the mid-20th century. Considered a reference creation, it is a model difficult to find, since very few units were manufactured.

The design is articulated from two identical side profiles that, in a continuous manner, resolve backrest, armrests, legs and balancing system in a single formal expression. The characteristic central oval opening reinforces the sense of lightness and structural unity, while the cylindrical crossbars link the two sides and support the seat and backrest as a single suspended volume. Although the most popular versions feature a leather seat, this fabric-upholstered variant is particularly unusual within the model's production run.

The relevance of this piece is reflected in its presence in the permanent collection of the Barcelona Design Museum, consolidating its status as a design icon. Jordi Vilanova i Bosch was a key figure in design and interior design in Catalonia, with a career that spanned from cabinetmaking to the creation of furniture and spaces, standing out for his ability to integrate traditional craftsmanship and modernity.

Vilanova is recognized for his mastery of woodworking and his contemporary reinterpretation of Mediterranean tradition. He trained in Busquets' workshop, later collaborating with Lluís Gili. He was awarded the Delta de Plata Prize (ADI/FAD, 1964) for the Delta stool. His work is represented in the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona, and among his most renowned designs are the Tiracord and Billar chairs, as well as the Tartera and Petit rocking chairs.
