Iconic set of six chairs designed by Silvio Coppola, Bernini's artistic director. They stand out for their architectural structure of refined lines in walnut wood, with integrated seat and backrest in original leather. A benchmark of Italian Modern that balances structural sobriety with the nobility of natural materials.
The legs and the upper uprights of the backrest have a tubular profile with a handcrafted appearance due to its organicist finish that denotes a remarkable quality of materials and workmanship.
Although trained as an architect, Silvio Coppola stood out as a multifaceted figure in industrial and graphic design in post-war Italy. His work as a consultant and artistic director for prestigious firms such as Bernini, Alessi and Cassina was key to the international projection of Italian design. He is represented in the permanent collections of MoMA, among others.
