Iconic pendant lamp model Semi, representative of Danish design of the second half of the twentieth century. Conceived in 1968, it stands out for its characteristic inverted semicircular silhouette, of clean and defined profile, that combines visual lightness with a marked graphic presence. Its design responds to a desire for formal purification and geometric precision, moving away from the dominant organicism of the time and opting for a more rational and timeless aesthetic. In addition to its formal value, it provides direct and controlled lighting, effectively integrating functionality and design.

Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup, trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, conceived this model as students, winning first prize in a competition that boosted its international projection. After graduating, they developed a long collaboration in the fields of architecture and industrial design, working on projects ranging from everyday objects to urban interventions. Their work, characterized by structural clarity and formal rigor, is in the tradition of Scandinavian modernism.
