The uniqueness of the PS142 armchair lies in the cut in the center of its backrest, which fits perfectly to the user's back, forming two mirror twin bodies. It is an enveloping, comfortable and functional armchair, reflecting the aesthetic postulates of the Italian midcentury avant-garde.
An Italian architect and designer trained at the Politecnico di Milano, Eugenio Gerli developed a prolific career in the field of industrial design and architecture, collaborating closely with the firm Tecno. Author of iconic pieces such as the S83 chair, the PS142 armchair or the Graphis system, his work reflects the synthesis between functionality and modernity typical of 20th century Italian design. His creations are part of important international collections and are kept in institutions such as the Milan Triennale, the Centre Pompidou, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
