DESCRIPTION
NIALL O'FLYNN (1959), for Spectrum.
Pair of "Rascal" chairs, 1997.
Galvanized steel tubular frame and metal mesh seat/back.
Condition: 8/10.
Measurements: 80 x 50 x 41 cm.
Pair of "Rascal" chairs, designed by Niall O'Flynn for the Dutch firm Spectrum in 1997. Produced during a brief period, between 1997 and 2001, they constitute an uncommon design within the European furniture of the end of the 20th century.
The model stands out for its tubular galvanized steel structure and for the seat and backrest made of woven metal mesh, an architecturally inspired material that provides transparency, lightness and a marked industrial presence. Despite its radical appearance, the chair maintains its ergonomics, with slight curves that favor comfort.
