Aquilon coffee table, designed by Pierre Guariche in 1962 for Les Huchers-Minvielle. The piece features a low, precise structure, defined by two rosewood side panels that support the original clear glass top, creating a balance between material density and visual lightness.

The expressive richness of the rosewood, with its contrasting grain, lends the design a sophisticated presence, while the glass allows the interior structure to be appreciated and reinforces the constructive clarity of the whole. Its clean geometry, with restrained lines, reflects Guariche’s characteristic rational and elegant design language.

Conceived as a complement to the Aquilon armchairs, the table can function both as a living room centerpiece and as an accent piece, integrating into modular compositions of great formal coherence.

Pierre Guariche was a key figure in modern European design during the second half of the 20th century. Trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he collaborated with firms such as Airborne, Steiner, Meurop, and Les Huchers-Minvielle, developing a body of work marked by structural clarity, economy of means, and typological innovation.

His body of work spanned furniture, lighting, and interior design, including now-iconic pieces such as the Tonneau chair, his lighting fixtures for Disderot, and various modular systems. His designs are featured in collections such as that of the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
