Original blue fabric upholstery.

Two armchairs Model "Multipla", designed by Jane Dillon and Peter Wheeler for the firm Kron, an outstanding piece of British design of the nineties. The armchairs have a sculptural and anthropomorphic form, with soft and sinuous lines that evoke the silhouette of the human body.

They have a tubular metal frame covered by an integral upholstery that reinforces their continuous, organic appearance. The upholstery is in blue fabric, completely enveloping, which eliminates any visible structural reference and accentuates its monolithic appearance. Seat and backrest merge into a single fluid volume, generating a relaxed and ergonomic posture.

Jane Dillon, who studied with Ettore Sottsass in the late 1960s, was part of the generation that explored new relationships between form, ergonomics and emotion in furniture. Jane Dillon went on to design for brands such as Habitat and Conran Associates. Her collaboration with Peter Wheeler for Kron resulted in this design, which combines the experimental spirit of late postmodern design with an almost biomorphic elegance.

The "Multipla" armchair is part of the permanent collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and is today a highly coveted piece by contemporary design collectors for its balance of art, sculpture and functionality.
