Table lamp designed by Luciano Frigerio, a leading figure of Italian design in the second half of the twentieth century. The design combines the geometric rotundity of the cylinder with a fluid, almost organic ornamental solution, characteristic of the Italian taste of the seventies for noble materials and forms of strong decorative presence. The golden finish of the brass reinforces its sophisticated character, while the textile shade balances the composition and softens the light emission.
Luciano Frigerio, in the post-war period, transformed the family workshop into a firm of national and international renown, in contact with architects such as Franco Albini, Carlo De Carli, Sergio Asti and Paolo Portoghesi. His most characteristic contribution was the Mobili Scultura concept, pieces that combined function and sculptural presence through the expressive use of fine woods and metals. In the 1970s he consolidated his success with several stores in Italy, including one in Milan's via Montenapoleone. Today his designs are appreciated by international galleries and collectors.
