DESCRIPTION

G. HABLOND MOUNT.
Octagonal table, 1970s.
Wood, glass and brass.
Octagonal glass top and golden structure.
Exhibits sligthly wear consistent with age and use.
Measurements: 75 x 140 x 140 cm.

Octagonal table of marked architectural and decorative presence. The design combines the transparency of the glass with the ornamental rotundity of the brass, generating a game of reflections and visual depth characteristic of the furniture of the seventies. The central base, also faceted, prolongs the geometric language of the top and adds stability to the whole without detracting from the lightness of the composition. Its aesthetic, close to the decorative glamour of the period, places the table between a functional piece of furniture and an object of representation.
