DESCRIPTION
Vicente Cortés-style bench, Spain, ca. 1960
Solid pine wood with iron legs.
Restored.
Exhibits wear consistent with age and use.
Measurements: 42 x 150 x 30 cm.
Spanish-designed bench, dating from around 1960, made of solid pine with an iron frame. The piece is inspired by the bench designs developed by Gregorio Vicente Cortés for H Muebles in the 1960s, characterized by the combination of wooden slats and a black metal frame.
The seat, composed of longitudinal slats, lends visual rhythm and lightness to the piece, while the iron base reinforces its functional and architectural character. This union of wood and metal embodies the spirit of mid-20th-century Spanish modern design, which emphasized understated, durable solutions with a clear structural language.
Thanks to its elongated shape, low height, and refined aesthetic, the bench is particularly versatile as an accent piece, an entryway seat, a footstool, or a decorative element in contemporary interiors. It has been restored and exhibits wear consistent with age and use.
