The iconic SE 68 chair combines a lightweight steel frame with a curved seat and backrest designed to conform to the body. It was a pioneering design in Germany for combining molded wood and metal tubing, achieving a sober, elegant, and thoroughly modern silhouette. The warm wooden surfaces are marked by contrast with the industrial precision of the chrome-plated legs. The backrests appear to be suspended on two slender supports, while the curvature of the seat provides comfort and a sense of visual lightness.

Egon Eiermann was a key figure in postwar German architecture and design. His creations are held in institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the SE 68 continues to be part of the Wilde + Spieth classic collection.
