A pair of side tables attributed to Ico Parisi, crafted from wood with rectangular tops decorated with classically inspired hunting scenes. The compositions depict wooded and rural landscapes featuring hunters on horseback, hunting dogs, deer, and other figures typical of the European hunting tradition. The tabletops are framed by raised sides that act as small galleries, while the tapered, stylized legs reflect the elegance and lightness characteristic of mid-20th-century Italian design. A particularly interesting feature of the set is its dual functionality: by removing the top glass panel, the pieces can also be used as stools—a versatile solution that embodies the design principle championed by Ico Parisi, for whom the functionality and adaptability of furniture were fundamental aspects.
Ico Parisi was an Italian architect, designer, photographer, filmmaker, and artist. Initially trained as a construction technician, he completed his apprenticeship at the studio of the rationalist architect Giuseppe Terragni. After World War II, he founded the La Ruota studio (1948) with his wife, the designer Luisa Aiani, from which he developed architectural, interior design, and furniture design projects for firms such as Cassina, Singer, Altamira, Longhi, and M.I.M.
