Designed by Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá for Gres in the 1960s, this armchair seamlessly blends traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary aesthetic. The Catalan architectural duo Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá, both born in 1924, were among the most prominent figures of the Modern Movement in the second half of the 20th century. Correa and Milá adhered to the principle that interior design and industrial design were integral parts of the same architectural project. Having worked alongside José Antonio Coderch, they founded their own studio in 1953. Their work includes the architecture of summer homes in Cadaqués, institutional and residential buildings, sports stadiums, factories, and offices; interior design for the legendary restaurants FlashFlash and Il Giardinetto; and unique, iconic design pieces to furnish their own projects and for furniture companies such as Gres.
