DESCRIPTION

Console table or entryway cabinet. France, 1970s.
Oak wood and wrought iron.
Measurements: 85 x 100 x 27 cm.

The combination of a lightweight metal frame with a solid wood top places this console table firmly within the context of 1970s French furniture, a period when interior design revived natural materials and artisanal techniques through refined forms. Its shallow depth makes it ideal for entryways, hallways, or compact spaces.

The oak top features a longitudinal profile with beveled edges, which accentuates the horizontal lines and adds character to the piece. As a hallmark, the wrought-iron base consists of straight uprights and crisscrossing diagonal crossbars, which provide both stability and visual dynamism to the piece. The contrast between the warmth of the wood and the simplicity of the iron defines a functional, balanced design that blends seamlessly into contemporary interiors.
