Cigar cutter in the shape of toucan that carries a wax holder in the tail and whose beak opens in a cigar cutter blade. Characteristic work of Hugo Berger. Typical of Goberg's work is the use of honest materials such as iron and brass. The handmade character clearly attracts attention. His style, method and materials fitted perfectly with the Arts & Crafts movement, a very popular style at the time.At the beginning of the 20th century he became known throughout the world, due to the fact that Liberty department store and other associated stores sold much of his work. In 1895, Hugo Berger (Goberg) founded his first metal factory in Schmalkalden (Germany), where decorative hardware was manufactured in the traditional way.
