HANS RIEDER (Germany, active at the beginning of the 20th century).

Measurements: 40 x 36 x 16 cm; 9 x 22 x 11 cm (pedestal).
Patinated bronze sculpture, a work by Hans Rieder. Resolved in Art Deco style, it is a stylized reinterpretation of the Hellenic ideal. It represents a Greek warrior in a pose of dynamic balance on a marble plinth, with arms outstretched and legs tensed in a composition of refined lines and geometric shapes. His body, at once corpulent and slender, evokes classical perfection through modern stylization. He carries a shield and a spear, symbols of strength and discipline, while his sandals with gaiters reinforce the image of an athlete-warrior.
