DESCRIPTION
Spanish mannerist school of the second third of the 16th century.
"Christ".
Carved wood.
It presents important faults and damages of xylophagous.
Measurements: 41 x 28 x 15 cm.
Spanish mannerist fragment representing the torso of Christ. The Mannerist sculpture looks for "the multiplicity of the views", overcoming not only the altorenacentistas conceptions (Leonardo reduced the statuary to the "combination of two reliefs"), but also the "main, complete and definitive view" that characterizes the sculptural work of Michelangelo. In this case the Savior has been represented with great attention to detail, with his hair perfectly individualized and the tunic partially covering his chest.
