David Dagaro is a sculptor whose work is articulated around the poetic encounter between steel and natural marine stone, two materials of opposite nature that in his hands dialogue and complement each other. The rigidity of the metal acquires movement and tension, while the stone, marked by time and the sea, preserves an ancestral energy that brings silence and balance. Through intertwined steel threads, Dagaro develops his own visual language in which the natural and the industrial merge in an organic way, giving rise to unique sculptures, full of harmony and contained strength.

The stones, carefully sought and selected by the artist, turn each sculpture into an unrepeatable piece: no two are alike in shape, color, weight or composition, which gives his work a profoundly singular character.

Trained at the Temeschburg Art Academy, Dagaro has developed a solid international career since the 1970s. His work has been presented in major exhibitions and art fairs in Switzerland, Germany, France and the United States, including shows in Zurich, Fribourg, Toulouse, Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami. Since the nineties, his work has had a continuous presence in Spain, especially in Mallorca, with exhibitions at the Balearic Cultural Center, the Casino de Mallorca, the Consell de Mallorca and various galleries in Palma, as well as with the realization of public monuments such as El Discóbolo in Palma Nova.

His international projection has been enhanced by exhibitions in Belgium, the Netherlands and Romania, including the Pele? National Museum, the Ionescu Quintus Art Museum and the Dimitrie Gusti National Museum in Bucharest. In 2015, his participation in Le Carrousel du Louvre in Paris consolidated the recognition of his work at the European level.

He has received important international awards and recognitions, including the Lorenzo di Medici Prize in Padua in 2015, the Absolute First Prize C.A.T.S. at the International Contemporary Art Fair in Padua in 2016, the Il Profumo del Arte Prize in 2016, the Arcimboldo Prize - Attestato di Merito in 2016, the Pro Arte e Cultura Excellence Award - Maite Spinola in 2016, the Leonardo da Vinci International Artist Award in Florence in 2017 and the International Art Prize Raffaello in Bologna in 2018.

Her sculptures are exhibited in important museums of contemporary and modern art, such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Gmünd (Austria), the Museum of Contemporary Art in Marmolejo (Spain) and the Museum of Modern Art Mayte Spínola (Spain).
