DESCRIPTION

YVES LOHÉ (France, 1947).
"Couple of clown musicians".
Bronze.
Signed.
Measurements: 41 x 20 x 16 cm.

Pair of bronze sculptures made by Yves Lohé, representing two clown musicians in full performance. The figures, of marked expressive and theatrical character, are resolved by means of stylized bodies, dynamic gestures and clothes of circus inspiration, transmitting humor, vitality and scenic sense.

The artist works in bronze with vibrant surfaces, alternating polished areas and irregular textures that accentuate the play of light. The flute and the violin, recurrent in Lohé's imaginary, visually prolong the posture of each figure and reinforce the compositional openness of the whole.

Yves Lohé is a contemporary French sculptor born in 1947, known for his works in bronze and vitreous paste. After beginning his career in wrought iron, in the late seventies he turned his work towards bronze, developing a decorative language centered on themes such as music, dance, the human figure and animals. His sculptures of instruments and musicians constitute one of his most recognizable series.
