DESCRIPTION
YVES LOHÉ (France, 1947).
"Female face".
Vitreous paste and bronze.
Signed.
Measurements: 40,5 x 38 x 22 cm.
Singular sculpture realized by Yves Lohé representing a feminine face in profile, integrated in a composition of marked organic inspiration. The work combines the nuanced transparency of the glass, in green, white and smoked tones, with gilded bronze elements that surround the figure as leaves or plant forms.
The face, with its serene and refined features, contrasts with the more dynamic and textured treatment of the hair and the enveloping elements, generating a visual tension between stillness and movement. The metallic base, with its geometric volume, balances the expressiveness of the upper part and brings stability to the whole.
Yves Lohé is a contemporary French sculptor born in 1947, known for his works in bronze and vitreous paste. After beginning his career in wrought iron, in the late seventies he turned his work towards bronze, developing a decorative language focused on themes such as music, dance, the human figure and animals. His female figures and compositions with colored glass reflect his interest in light, movement and ornamental expressiveness.
