This sculpture is a clear example of the style of Roger de Minvielle, who was a renowned French sculptor and military career, whose work was deeply marked by his experience as a horseman. His style is characterized by an extraordinary mastery of equine anatomy, the result of his career as a cavalry officer and having attained the rank of Chief Squire at the prestigious Cadre Noir de Saumur. This position allowed him to acquire an exceptional knowledge of the movement and musculature of the horse, which he was able to transfer to bronze with a precision and sensitivity difficult to match even among the civilian artists of his time.
