Member of the Royal Photographic Society. Rosana Urosa Cruz has been an amateur photographer since her youth, although in the last twenty years she has developed a deeper commitment to this discipline. Her training in Sociology, along with her interest in literature, music and painting, have significantly influenced her approach to the themes she explores in her work. As she has deepened her photographic knowledge, her gaze has evolved from a more documentary perspective towards images of a more personal nature, in which she seeks to express her vision on recurring themes such as the feminine, the search for the self, the connection with others and the relationship with space.
Currently, her personal projects occupy most of her photographic activity. Looking for images that are more suggestive than descriptive, she experiments with different techniques, languages and supports, and sometimes merges painting and photography, establishing a dialogue between both disciplines. His aspiration is to generate an emotional connection with the public, creating a meeting point in each interaction.
Over time, he has participated in multiple collective projects, but some of his most relevant milestones include his first solo exhibition, Ritmos y pausas de un andar ligero, organized by the Real Sociedad Fotográfica de Madrid in the context of its 125th anniversary in October 2024, as well as the publication of his first photography book, Azul pintado de azul, a self-publication with a print run of 150 copies in Madrid in 2024.
