Ángel Marcos' work is influenced by his experience as a social worker. Thus, in his projects appear explicitly or implicitly circumstances such as emigration, exclusion, vulnerability or power, always reflected in the rural and urban environment and its peripheries. Marcos held his first individual exhibition at the Siena Gallery in Valladolid in 1982, while in 1984 he developed Estampas personales, a precursor work of the author. It was after a photographic commission in 1992, Un viaje por el teatro Calderón, about the Calderón theater in Valladolid before its complete renovation, that he decided to dedicate himself exclusively to artistic photography. His projects are set in the natural environment near his hometown, the city of Medina del Campo, Spain, as well as in the United States, Cuba, China, Europe and Africa. His work is currently represented in important national and international collections, including the Cristina Masaveu Foundation in Oviedo, the Naples Museum of Art in Naples, Florida, the ARTIUM in Vitoria, the MUSAC in Castilla y León, the Nationale Suisse Assurances in Basiela, the Lentos Museum Linz in Austria, the Margulies Collection in Miami, the Ventós Collection in Barcelona, the Siemens Foundation, the IVAM in Valencia, the Reina Sofía in Madrid and the DKV Collection.
