Miguel Ángel Gaüeca is a visual artist and photographer from Bilbao whose work dissects the mechanisms of construction of identity, desire and consumption in contemporary society. Through a deliberately neat and sophisticated aesthetic, which appropriates the visual codes of luxury advertising and fashion, Gaüeca uses irony and self-referentiality to question the structures of social validation and the appearances of the bourgeoisie.
