Miguel Ángel Gaüeca is a visual artist and photographer from Bilbao whose work dissects the mechanisms of construction of identity, desire and consumption in contemporary society. Through a deliberately neat and sophisticated aesthetic, which appropriates the visual codes of luxury advertising and fashion, Gaüeca uses irony and self-referentiality to question the structures of social validation and the appearances of the bourgeoisie. His work, present in prestigious collections such as the Museo Reina Sofía or the Artium, stands out for meticulous stagings where self-portraiture and parody merge, creating a critical narrative that explores the vulnerability of the individual in the face of stereotypes and the imperative of success.
